I've scared myself this year. I normally leave all my shopping until a few days before christmas.
So far I've almost finished buying all of Megan's presents. I'm severely cutting the present budget this year- there just isnt going to be enough room for both kids in 1 bedroom if I spend what I usually do. This year she is getting..... A ballerina necklace, Jewellery box, Girlie bath stuff, a new handbag, makeup (she's only 4 so it's a kids set and will only be used with supervision), A star pillow (she's obsessed with stars at the mo), A doll's house (about £40), A baby born boy (wanted one last year but no where had them for love nor money), a few barbie things. The only thing she's asked for is my little pony- they are £5 bogof at tesco now \0/. By the time I've finished I will have spent about £100. I spent about £200 on her last year. No idea what we're getting Toby So far I've spent about £30 on her, bought all of the inexpensive stuff, just got the pillow, dolls house and doll to buy.

You're all behind. I had a clear out of my hard drive at work and found a rip of my three-disc Christmas CD. I've been playing 'In Dulci Jubilo' since July.

Dad? Seriously there's no need to mention Christmas until the embers have cooled on your bonfire. Now someone lock this thread until 6th November.

I wouldn't mind Christmas at all if it was solely about spending time with the family and/or about God and stuff for the believers. A day of stuffing my face and drinking heavily, whilst watching crap telly with those I love sounds like a splendid way to spend a day. I object to being pressured into buying stuff for people at a specific time, rather than when I want to. My sympathy lies with all parents at Christmas. I've been the hard up parent with kids at school before and I know how difficult it can be to find the cash to ensure your little ones don't get teased - good luck all I'll have to get a new "Bah Humbug" sig for this year - I only stopped using last year's one a couple of months ago
