Thanks guys, I am actually taking on board what most have said about the browser. The HTC touch - the one mat is talking about - can be had for free with t-mobile so yeah it is an option for me.

If you are getting a windows mobile device, the first thing I'd suggest if you want to do browsing is forget about pocket IE and get yourself a copy of opera mobile (not mini), especially play with the current 9.5 beta, best browser on a mobile device, seriously.

Very impressed with the 9.5 beta - it's light years ahead of the previous attempt, but you needn't worry about that with the HTC devices (at least not some of them) - which come with Opera as standard.
