And hit them, if I need to. Justifying and precluding all other options of course. Batons and pepper spray aren't options as we haven't got them. Sadly.

I thought it would be better to pepper-spray someone than hit them ?
Maybe not Due to your old avatar I always imagine your job as if Onslow were to star guest on Porridge!

From the other side: if I can safely get past a row of stationary traffic, then why sit behind them? Especially if I can accelerate away from the lights quickly enough so that at no time does my vehicle impede their progress - I've decreased my journey time and inconvenienced no-one. Sure, it's going to be galling for anyone who has no choice but to sit in a queue of traffic to see the ease with which a m/cycle can overcome this problem. But to sit there along with all the rest of the traffic only delays the people behind the bike and benefits no-one.

Guess we will have to agree to disagree, you are only speeding up your journey and no one elses, one bike takes up the same room as a car, and surely you can see how frustrating it must be for a car who has to wait in a queue only for someone on two wheels to come weaving through basically just because they can fit, and a car can't. If I have to wait, why cant you?

He might only be speeding up his journey but he isn't slowing yours down or having any other kind of negative effect (bar inducing envious rage it seems) so I fail to see a problem

I just find it inconsiderate I guess. Like I said, motorbikes are only doing it because they can, and are just thinking of themselves and how quickly they can get to where they are going.

No more inconsiderate than someone on a pushbike going past a queue of traffic Simple solution - learn to ride a motorbike

I agree, i'd be just as irate about a pushbike, just motorbikes were on the end of my ranting having had it happen to me that day.
