Just watched this again. Remember when it was played on Top of the Pops and they cut the bit where he smashed the windows of the car? Wait for Homer and Bart right at the end.

Forgot how to Youtube link....

Couldn't agree more Kitten. Well said.

I remember running home one day because my mom was shouting that the new Michael Jackson video was playing on the first time. I've always remembered that and would never have done it for anyone else. Amazing.

I agree with Kitten n Nokkon. There's never been another King of Pop. Theres been big artists since but never been another MJ. I remember seeing Bad being advertised on tv as a kid and that was my first real taste of music. The first time I ever wanted to own some music. My Dad bought the lp for me. I remember when he came to Aintree. That was *huge*!! MJ here. My cousins sat on their garage to see the screens and listen to the gig. I think one even had tickets.

By my teens it wasn't "cool" to be a fan but I still was. Music tastes change, things are fogotten. His biggest hit of recent years was his court case. Thats a pretty sad thing really. I remember being glad that Earth Song was the xmas number 1 and some stupid cheesey cashin wasn't.

Smooth Criminal has to be one of the best songs ever. Brilliant video. I remember being amazed at the dance moves. Still dunno if its Eddie or Anne though.

He was the King of Pop. Changed music. Changed people. RIP.

I'm in agreement with Stan, Kitten, Nokkon, petemc, and just about everyone else.

Thriller set the bar for everyone else, and at least purely in terms of numbers set it so high that no-one has, nor is ever likely to (assuming trends continue) top it. As far as MJ's career went, it was near perfection. How could he top that? Then his personal life went bonkers and that was that.

Personally, I was never a fan of MJ's music, but that doesn't detract from what he achieved - it was simply groundbreaking.

Agreed, and well said.

I've seen a lot of negative comments today on various other forums/twitter about Michael (I've also seen lot's of 'Rest in Piece' comments, my 10yr old would even get that right), I find it a shame that such a talented and kind man has become a complete joke to many people, sure he brought a fair bit of it on himself, but the talent this man had and the thoughtful things he has done for people in need in my eyes won't be matched. I haven't been a 'fan' of Michael since I was a child but I have utmost respect for the guy, as Mark said above, groundbreaking stuff.

Aww been listening to some CHOONS today!

Generally speaking, I really dislike covers, particularly of those of stupendous bands. There's one MAHOOSIVE exception to this rule though - Micky J's Come Together. It's the first song I heard that made me go "zomg bass guitar is wickedy woo!"

Something UBER bothering me though, and due to silly crashing computer I canny search it without it freezing, what on earth is the song where he does a BRILLIANT dance routine in the middle of a darkened street with a bunch of dudes? They're all silhouetted and I think dancing for a sexy lady friend. I don't even think it's to music. Misty and everything.

I thought it was on the Moonwalker video but can only think of The Way You Make Me Feel and when googled it came up with an intro I know... but not the one I'm thinking of.

Unless there's two types...

Really irritating me now. I used to love the dance to it and being ickle I thought it was SUPER wude they all looked like they humped the floor at one point! I would giggle my socks off!
