No, but I've already told him that a £40k software order has gone elsewhere due to his inability to organise the proverbial in a brewery.

So it's cheaper to buy a 2007 from a little computer place in Maldon than it is to buy it through a Dell account manager by a customer who spends multiple hundreds of thousands of pounds!

Stupid.

The situation has changed slightly, I'm probably about a month to five weeks away from buying so it's a good bet I'll have enough cash to go for the 2407, unless there's a new model out then. Knowing my luck there will be and it'll be a case of starting all over again *sigh*

Are the ones from Maldon refurbs or new? Cos I had a look and the ones I mentioned are technically refurbs - but you can't actually tell the difference as it's all new components etc.

As far as I know they're new. I had a word with our account manager there who spoke to Dell.

You know which firm I'm talking about?

* grumbles about still using a 6 or 7 year old Gem 18.1" LCD *

I hate you all. The thought of even TRYING to spend almost a grand on a 2407 is laughable to me right now.

Nope. Just didn't think there were any re-sellers as such as Dell do it all direct. Just outlets for refurb/returned stuff.

It's a myth that Dell don't use resellers. They don't advertise the fact, but they do use them.

True enough - it used to be true, but hasn't been for quite some time now. Never mind the online retailers I'm sure we all know, I was surprised to find a retail store at the Gateshead Metro Centre with both 2007 and 2407 monitors on display.

I know this isn't entirely related but was wondering if we'd see an equivalent to this over here. I think that comes out to roughly £142

I decided that the 24" was just too physically large for the available deskspace, so I've just ordered the 2007WFP

Should be with me in a couple of days, yay \o/
