A Blog Rollcall - Page 6

I've decided that from next year I shall be posting a blog. That might surprise some people as I'm quite a private person generally but I've decided that I'm going to involve my hobby of amateur radio and my plan is to ensure that I talk to at least one person on the radio every day of the year with just one caveat - If I'm not at home for a day (working away, holiday, that sort of thing) then that day will be skipped. I think that's acceptable as it'd be difficult to have a contact when I don't have access to a wireless.

I'll try and blog the details on a daily basis but if I can't do that daily then it will as regular as I can, the point isn't to guarantee a daily blog but to have a QSO every day. I've bought a domain specifically for this and will spend the next few weeks getting it set up. I've already installed Wordpress on it so it's just a case of theming it how I want and getting it all ready so once I'm ready I'll post the link.

I'm quite looking forward to the challenge.

Will need a nice introductory post explaining some technical terms but should be interesting to follow

http://wordpress.com/ and follow the instructions. Easy and they'll host it as well. If you want to host on your own domain/ISP then it's a little more complicated but a basic hosted Wordpress blog can be set up in a few minutes.

Forty days into the year and mine is going well. I'm not blogging every day although I have had a contact on the radio every day so far (which was the object of the exercise). Still enjoying it and keeping it all going so it's nice to be still running strong now that it's at least 10% of the way into the year.
