Nope, nada. Most Americans don't even know what Boxing Day is (and as such I'm working that day). Canadians do, though.

We do get general post-Christmas sales as overstocked shops try to shift their stock.

Along with the consumer orgy of Black Friday there was also stupidity. Among the news stories today: Someone got shot by robbers stealing his shopping as he left the store at 1:45am. One woman decided the best thing to do was spray a bunch of shoppers with Pepper Spray to ensure she got to the items she wanted (or maybe she'd been watching Fox News and heard how it's "basically a foodstuff" and thought she'd help them meet their daily allowance).

I think that was Leo's point ~ we dont celebrate TG, they don't celebrate BD, yet we get the same celebrations as them...

Tbf the UK is missing a massive trick with not having Thanksgiving, it's the best holiday ever One of my pet hates in the UK was the massive and miserable gap between the August Bank Holiday and Christmas - Thanksgiving not only fills that gap but is an epic pre-Christmas Christmas dinner that you get to do all over again 4 weeks later - I literally cannot see any downside to this holiday
