my first, a paw print on the bottom of my back, i got when i was 17
it was a rebellion against myself i had always struggled with negative body image - not liking my weight, my figure, my hair, usual girl stuff my idea of control was to have a piece of my body that i would always like - something i've put there just for me in the following year i got 3 more in my first year at uni, i got very involved in my chosen subject (oncology), my other tattoo is a small heart, designed to look like it was made out of the cancer awareness ribbon (however popular opinion seems to be that it looks like the walls logo!!) (i'll put piccies up when the man with the camera gets home) as soon as is reasonably achievable (money and time permitting) i am going to have my shoulder heart added to, i want a whole shoulder 'sleeve' of symbols that mean things to me, wrapped in either ivy, lillies, or random squiggly patterns (i know this idea needs more thought!) i also really want a number 13 on my foot, above my big toe and a binary 8 figure string on the inside of one of my fingers |

Lozza I'd be interested as to what you said, if you don't mind sharing PM me.
I sort of understand where you are coming from Goldilocks, there are a lot of parts of my body i'm not happy with but when i see my stars, even if it is a flash in a mirror i feel happy. My parents don't approve of my tattoos but they understand that it is up to me what i do. Dad just ignores them now, mum isn't bothered she even helped me put stuff on them when they had just been done. |

that was a great feeling she nor my dad mind them, they oppose my ears more! i think they'd mind if i went OTT, but whilst they can still be hidden, they're ok!! |

I've always loved tattoos - on some people. Some people seem to be able to pull them off better than others. Some are just amazing to look at from an artistic/talent point of view, some are poignant, some are just funky/cool. I was very close to getting "something" on the back of my shoulder as it's the part of my body I'm most fond of it's something I wouldn't mind sharing. However it came to trying to design/choose something and I couldn't make up my mind and thought if I was that indecisive I probably don't need one - 10 years have passed and whilst I still think they are cool I don't think I'd have one now - I'm not one of these people that can pull it off. I'll just go to the gym instead o
