Hmmm might just find out if I can get out of my contract and go elsewhere.

I have been following this with great interest as my trusty k800i is getting a bit of a brick now. I am struggling to justify the costs associated with owning an iphone vs. my actual usage. Not sure what your feelings are on the HTC hero but I am considering this package with Orange

HTC Hero is very good. It was a very close call between that and the iPhone for me. If the Hero had had the zoom function I use lots on the iPhone, I wouldn't own an iPhone right now.

Yeah I am struggling to choose between them and at a bit of a loss as well. I think the free apps with the htc is going to swing it. I've been crunching numbers and the HTC comes to £585 (with discounts) over two years. I'm on a sim only for £20/month and the other works out at £25/month.
Need to sort out how to port my number as I've been with BT since '99 and the most important thing is the number. All business contacts have that number for years. Sorry to derail a little there. |

Phone O2, ask for PAC, wait for code to be given out, give to Orange (or T-Mobile), hope they do the transfer correctly.

Given post#63, they're being less than honest with you.

Still, something to keep in my back pocket for renewal time in case they're willing to beat that offer. [edit] Only think about the Hero is that it appears to be out of stock everywhere and discontinued on O2.

Theres always the samsung galaxy on o2 which is android. You dont need a "hero" just an android phone basically, apart from the phones older than the hero all the android phones are going to fit the job fine and theres a lot coming out over the next year!

Right, Vodaphone have put their tariffs up.
£30 a month for 18 months (hurrah!!). £59 for the iphone 3G, which I don't mind too much. It's free on 24 months, but I just don't like having to wait 2 yrs for a new phone. 300 mins & unlimited texts. The 3GS is out of my price range, so I'm not considering it. Only thing I'm not sure about is the 1GB internet/webmail limit. How much do people use per month on here? Orange is limited to 750GB and I can't find a limit for O2.
