Thanks for the offer Mark but I've already paid for Grabit for a month (I'm trialling the groups to see how I go), and it's picked up speed now and averaging around 400-500KB/s which is fine with me, soooo much faster than torrents.

Edit: Forgot my Newshosting account allows me 8 concurrent connections, so enabled the extra 5 in Grabit and the speed has jumped up to around 700KB/s. At this rate I'll have the remaining 12GB of my downloads done before I go to work according to Grabit. If that's the case, I'm sold

What are you getting by paying for Grabit?

From their website...

Quote:
Unlimited use of the GrabIt Usenet Search
Also increases your search results from 750 to 7,500 results per search.
Unlimited use of the GrabIt Usenet Browser
Also increases your binary browses to 150,000 results and offers a 30 day history.
It's only £1 so figured I'd buy it and see if it's worth it. I can always stop if I need to.

I'm definitely sold anyway. 15GB downloaded in the time it would usually take me to download 1GB. I now desperately need a bigger hard drive

You shouldn't need to pay for anything dude, you're getting the services you require through newzbin/newshosting.

As for storage: http://www.boat-drinks.co.uk/showpos...8&postcount=36

Thats a retention figure I think, with the more expensive service your get access to older posts but to be honest most stuff you'll want will have been posted in the last 45 days anyway unless you're looking for really obscure stuff.

That's what I figured, so I signed up for the 45 day plan, makes my monthly outgoings £10 for the services I use, which is easily affordable and well worth it considering what I intend to get my grubby little hands on
