same here. very disappointed that there's no 3G. Wonder how those WiFi networks are going to cover, though. Might just get an iPod Touch - when they make AppTapp work with that as well, it'll have the potential to be an awesome device!
there's a WiFi network I can get on at work, and 1 I can get on at home, those are the only places I really browse the net anyway, so a Touch might be best for me after all. |

Quite a few train stations and places like that are on the right Wi-Fi network. Reading certainly is. OK at home too of course as there's a Wi-Fi network there, but still, if other phones can manage it then battery life is a bit of a lame excuse. I like all the off the cuff comments basically amounting to 'same old schpiel then' in the engadget report.
Steve Jobs is clearly in it only for the money - on about wanting to foster openness (no DRM) on iTunes in one breath, then RIAA-like lockdown of the iPhone in the next. :/ Last edited by Mark; 18-09-2007 at 12:38. |

3G coming early next year, Apple really are a pain for selling a half finished product and then screwing early adopters aren't they?

one of the main reasons I didn't buy a Macbook Pro until it'd been out for ages. They never seem to get a bad name for doing it though! MS release a half-assed OS, and the critics are all over them like a rash. Apple users appear to just bend over and take it!

Yeah it certainly is a pain, I think personally I'll just stick with a touch until the new version comes out early next year. After playing with one on Valley Fair I thought they were excellent but I'm far better sticking with T-Mobile.
EDIT: Apple users don't bend over and take it, we whinge like a whingy thing

well people do whine it's just the mainstream media doesn't pay them much attention.
I seriously doubt there will be a high adoption of the iPhone by UK consumers as the product isn't advanced enough.
