Forgo the formalities and do it already.

Couple of reaons why you should do it now.

A) You won't have to pretend to laugh
B) You'll age slower
C) Bad jokes bring more bad jokes from other people. Birds of a feather and all that.

If people from one forum invade another en mass and then post about the forum they have come from (however subtly) then I think they are probably responsible, consequently, I'd say it was you, amongst others.
