Its got to the point now that it's hardly worth pre-ordering unless you have got some great codes. One store or another seems to be doing a new game for £30 or sometimes less on launch weekends.

I got gears for £32 using a 7.50 off voucher that came with my quaterly club card statement. Then minus quidco of course

I only pre-order now if I can get games around that price.

Aye, I've noticed that online isn't what it used to be. ShopTo are giving money off vouchers with everything now.

Supermarkets have realized if they sell things like games for a pittance (sometimes even at a loss!) people will tend to do their food shopping while they're there, often netting more of a profit per person in one shopping outing than any games store could get. This is why Sainsburys were practically giving 360s + Wiis away, they were actually making a loss on their console sales, unfortunately that all backfired when Game managers bought nearly all of their units to 'pad out their stock'.
