Default Irrational things that annoy you (and non irrational things too come to think of it)

There are plenty of things in the world that annoy me with just cause but I've recently realised that I get annoyed by some really strange things so to start the ball rolling we have.......

Women in denim skirts and leggings - Now I'm not sure why this annoys me so much but whenever I see a woman in a denim skirt and leggings I have a barely controlable urge to grab their shoulders, give them a shake and shout "if your legs are cold wear some ****ing jeans!" Now a denim skirt with tights I'm fine with but leggings just look so stupid with a denim skirt it actually makes me angry.

Here endeth the fashion advice.

When people call mp3 players 'ipods', even if the one they own isn't an ipod. Small thing that i should shrug off, after all, people still call Dysons 'hoovers' and that doesn't bother me despite being pretty much the same thing surely?

Not in my mind it seems, lose at least a pint of water due to blood boilage each time it happens. Never say anything though, don't want people to realize what a freak I am.

A couple of things that really don't matter much in the grand scheme of things but for some reason, really wind me up are:
  1. I travel a fair bit - not as much as some but more than most and one thing that constantly gets on my tits is seeing people boarding aircraft with cabin baggage which blatantly exceeds the maximum size stated by the airline. I know it's not a big deal but it really gets my goat. My ire is directed as much at the airlines in this as the perpetrators of the atrocity, they should be stopping these people from boarding with the bags.
  2. People who stand in a supermarket queue for 10 minutes then have to go digging through their bag and then their purse to find the cash or card to pay (usually after they have finished packing their shopping). FFS, if you're standing in a queue for ten minutes, at least get your purse ready while you're waiting. (I specified purse because I have yet to see a man do this, it is invariably women who do it - so much for the ability to multitask ). I know it's only an extra 30 seconds or so but any longer spent in a supermarket queue than absolutely necessary is unacceptable.

The plane thing bothers me too Stan. Completely agree.

My list is so extensive I have to think of my top few, else I fear I shall be here all day!

I did that. Those were my top two - there are many, many more I am a grumpy old man.

On a similar note people who refer to their mp3 player as their 'mp3' grate on me. Particularly the Halfords ad where they're selling a car stereo and the salesman says "you can connect your mp3".

People humming to themselves - I don't know why it irritates me so much, as some people have nice voices and can make a nice noise when humming, but when they do it I really just want and shout at them to either sing the song properly or be quiet, not something in the middle.

People dawdling around in supermarkets - I don't like going to supermarkets at the best of times, so people who move idly around and getting in my way make me want to run them over with a trolley. 99% sure I'm not alone in feeling this though.

It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I think the smallest thing:biggest annoyance ratio for me has to be when a website 'loads' the back button. You know the ones - you click on a link, then when you click the back button it just redirects back to the same page. Far from keeping me on that site it makes me blacklist it, never to be returned to.

Barmit - yes! That's a huge gripe of mine!

Stan, I'm a grumpy old git too don't worry!

People that take ages to make a decisions irritate me, like when the light turns green when driving, I expect people to leave the line instantly!

People who dawdle - they always appear when I'm trying to get somewhere quickly!

Toilet roll being the wrong way round.

PEople that say "pacific" instead of "specific".
