Default F1 2009 Rule changes

Good video here

Will be interesting to see who uses the KERS system and what will happen when Ferrari have used all eight of their engines with 2 races to go

Thats the tip of the iceberg with changes...

Proper link to the original video.

I'm still going through the rulebook and making notes.

The interesting thing with the engine rules is at least 1 engine will have to do 3 races - but the engines do not have to be used consecutively anymore. So the engine used at Spa no longer needs to be used at Monza...

It's the biggest changes in the rules that I can remember for a very long time.

I suspect you are a bigger F1 fan than me I'm struggling to get excited about the 09 season after the debacle that was the 08 season, I really want to enjoy F1 again but fear the Max & Bernie show will **** it up

The change to the engine rules is how limited engines should have been done in the first place and is something i've been suggesting for a while now.

Nice changes. These have been needed for a long time. It looks like they are trying to encourage overtaking. I stopped watching as it was a 60 lap parade lap where they followed each other around. Will watch this with interest.

I doubt these rule changes will change much.

To be fair, what would? Making them all build cars from the 80s?

It's at least a step in the right direction giving more mech grip, less aero grip etc.
