Office break in
Our office got broken into last night They got in through the side fire door, wrecking it, broke into the 3 offices and took a laptop, monitor and a coin jar. The doors are a mess and the they had gone through most of the drawers and cupboards.
Funny thing is, they smashed a window to escape and 3 unmarked police cars happened to be driving past managed to arrest 2 blokes and get all our stuff back Have had soco in this morning finger printing and need to ring a recovery place to check if we can pick our stuff up that they stole. By the time our alarm people had turned up the police had the blokes in handcuffs already, we think the alarm is a silent one, nobody can remember, if it isn't then the thieves are more stupid than normal. |

Scum
We were broken into twice, lost 2 machines in the process, now our office looks like a prison with bars on the windows.

There are 2 buildings on our site and a few years back the other building was broken into it by professionals. They had checked who our security firm were, found a couple of other buildings about 5 minutes away that used the same firm and set the alarms off. Came back to our place and broke in. They were in and out in under 4 minutes taking with them 6 computers and anything else valuable. They then did it again a month later. After that bars were put on the windows and all computers were fitted in steel cages bolted to the ground. Which was handy as they did it again a few weeks later but couldn't take anything. Police never found out who they were.

We think ours were the same people as they knew exactly where to get in and how to avoid the cameras. Once the windows went on they haven't been back since.
Our actual building has lost stuff 4 times

I've lost count of the number of times my office has been done over, last count was something like 26 times over the last 6 years.
A few years ago they broke in the night before my birthday through one of the windows in my office so I got fingerprinted on my birthday. Nice. That bloody ink is a bastard to get off. |

Tell me about it, I've only done wet prints twice and both times I got ink on my shirt.
Inkless Livescan machine ftw!

Our boys are being turned over more and more at the moment. Opportunists, and amazingly a lot of teens (Faygen-type of theft).

Can't say it's something which had even occured to me, but then I've spent my whole working life on a site with 24hr onsite security. If anyone even got to my office who shouldn't be here there'd be trouble.
