Had a crack at the demo with Davey over the weekend and I thought it was good, it isn't a purchase for me but definitely a rental.

It's a really great game and does a fantastic job of capturing the feel of UFC. But ultimately that's why i won't be buying it, UFC is exciting because of the random knockout punches and violent tustles on the ground. Neither of those things particularly 'work' for me in a computer game, for example, in the demo (on the highest difficulty) i walked out, two punches and it was over. I would be so annoyed if someone did that to me online as it was just blind luck on my part, all i did was hit the punch button twice. Rolling back and forth from one position to another, unable to get back on your feet for the best part of 5 mins isn't great fun either tbh.

OMFGZ its amazing.
been through the career once already. Middleweight, championship belt won and defended before i was forced into retirement by Dana White and left to write my autobiography. destroyed a few guys online also, but it looks like if someone leaves early it doesn't count... 2nd online ranked match ended with me smashing some guys face in... but after all the cut scenes i didn't get any points |

I love it too. I wasn't planning on getting it yet as I thought we couldn't afford it, but when Lynnie realised we could, she ordered it for me from Gameplay and didn't tell me. Needless to say I was rather surprised when it turned up for me in work yesterday!
One thing that's a pain though is that going through the entire career undefeated is going to be next to impossible. If you win your first 5-6 fights as I did, you'll likely be thrust into a fight with a real superstar, whose stats will be overwhelmingly better than yours. The moment you get taken down you'll be beaten, as your character simply isn't good enough to stop your opponent. The flash knockouts, while realistic, also mean winning every fight is going to be a huge challenge. Still, I'm up to 11th in the heavyweight rankings and hopefully will be putting a lot of time into this over the weekend to finish my first career and then go on to another

yeah, winning every fight will be so incredibly difficult. i think i finished my career 30-12
hopefully next time round i'll be a little better prepared and aware of the best ways of playing so that i can improve on that. |
