Breaking a compooter - ideas of prices
My sisters making room at home for my niece's bedroom, and the computer I built a few years ago is looking like it has to go. Bro-in-law is obviously intersted in selling it off, or wondering if/how much he can get for parts
Anyone got any ideas how much this could be worth, as a lump or separate? Last edited by Pickers; 07-08-2009 at 13:43. |

I'd say you're looking £80-£100 all in at best.
You can get machines huge amounts faster for £200 - 250 new, so you won't get much for 2005 tech now. £200 will buy you a current model Intel or AMD dual core with 4GB RAM.

Yeah £100 probably as a full system, maybe £150 because of the 17" TFT thrown in too.

Definitely better off trying to sell it as a whole, as someone might pay for a basic machine capable of simple tasks.
Breaking it wouldn't be worth the hassle as many of the components would be worth so little than postage charges would be prohibitive.
