Dull poll I know, but which rolling pin do you prefer: old style wood or marble?

I prefer wood because it feels better.

What do you think?

Plastic. Hurts less when you get hit with it

Marble, especially when rolling out pastry because the marble helps keep the pastry cool.

That said I've got a wooden one because it was a helluva lot cheaper.

marble, can use it as a solid mortar if needs be and also stays much colder.

I picked wood because I've actually never used a marble one but wouldn't marble be more hygenic?

Plastic with a screw on lid/cap so i can fill it with warm water to ease my pastry making.

Want - Glass with the cap to fill with ice or hot water.
Use - 20 year old wood one

Ditto. I would imagine flour sticks better to Wood than marble though?
