Default 360 Controller

I have a wired controller.

The Y button is sticky and if left for a few days really takes a lot of force to press the first few times.

I was contemplating opening it up to see if there was anything obvious I could clean or unblock etc.

Is this likely to cause springs launching all over the room and bits and pieces that will never fit back in?
