Default Waze - Free GPS, get mapping.

http://world.waze.com/guided_tour/

Waze is available for quite a few different mobiles and has now been released for the iPhone, hence this post.

It's a free, community led GPS and navigation system that people can add to as they drive. If a road doesn't exist on a map, add it as you go. I'm sure it's still early days at the moment but just read a bit from the link and maybe give it a go

Looks like quite a bit of my area isn't covered yet so I can do my bit and start mapping when I go to work

Have to say I've lost interest with this

Once I've done my daily drive a couple of times, you kind of lose the use of it. It also tracked the same road but in a couple of different places meaning the mapping is now wrong. I know it can be deleted on the web interface but it's so long winded it becomes a pain. It's going to be a VERY long time before this can be used as any decent form of sat nav and there are only so many geeks happy to start mapping and editing road names to build up a decent map.

It really needed a small fee to help pay for a good starting map and then used the community to keep it up to date.
