Default Windows Media Player - codec errors

I've been getting a lot of Codec errors when using WMP10 for MP3s since I have re-installed XP pro a few months back..?

I've never had these before. The only difference between this and previous installs i've done is that i'm now using an XP install disk with SP2, rather than using a vanila version, then installing SP2 afterwards?

Where do i get these codec from? Any ideas?

I use the K-Lite codec pack, seems to have everything I need. There are 3 versions - basic, standard and full.

Also includes media player classic - which I like

Cheers Stan, I really don't understand why the Codecs are standard as part of XP?

I take it you use the full version?

just use VLC media player.... is not pretty but it does the job and you wont have to bother looking for codecs
