Disney takes LucasFilm and films 7-9
George Lucas has had enough, Disney will take over LucasFilm and start production on the next three Star Wars movies.

Star Wars out of the hands of Lucas can only be a good thing. I for one welcome our new Mickey Mouse overlords.
On a more serious note, I've always wanted to see a continuation of the series starting with Luke Skywalker older and training new apprentices as we saw in the computer game Jedi Academy.

It's gotta be something around the restoration of the order along with Warlords and the re-taking of Coruscant, I think and hope.
Hamill, Fisher and Ford should get cameos too; they're 61/56/70 respectively; didn't think Hamill was actually that old. |

The thing is, I loved the less polished version of the 80s, and if they do a good high budget graphics version I want to see the following: No stupid characters. Good puns and sarcastic humour a la Han Solo. No more Yoda backflipping and marshal arts (he's dead now anyway). No more prequels. The death star was destroyed, but the Sith were never completely destroyed. A better explanation, and use of The Force. Space battle scenes. Skywalker offspring. Re-establishing a Jedi order. A deeper understanding/explanation of the split between light / dark side. We've had the shock revelation of the death's stars ability to destroy planets - we need something equally powerful to threaten the rebel alliance. I don't want the Sith to be wiped out per se, however, a new enemy of similar power? Perhaps they were plunged into darkness after a big war, and the rebuilding of a rebel colony, learning to utilise the force better. We've had the Anakin thing "immaculate birth" highest midichlorian count ever recorded - we need something similar. Either that or plunge way back before a prequel, before the empire or rebels even existed.

And the computer games! And comics, and the sketch books and storyboards that were never developed into films!
However, it's going to be too kid related I fear. Though SW was a U I believe? Though one was rated PG. I'd love to see some Thrawn or Zhaarin (the Empire traitor) series - but that was during Vader's time. Or, really early on before the initial prequels. Or based on the knights of the old republic. They could succeed so much. They need another uber bady - however, the destruction of Alderaan is so epic they need something they can recover from like that. I shall await with scepticism....

How about the revelation that Darth Vader has another son who is raised to lead the Sith?

I'd love to see the Knights of the Old Republic as a movie. That would be amazing!

I hated the last three films. Well, actually I hated two of the last three. I could only stomach about half of the the second before switching it off in disgust, right after the moment when Anakin jumped out of a speeder thing and Obi Wan muttered that tired old cliche "I hate it when he does that". He probably said You just don't get it, do you?" somethime later.
I never watched the third. |
