100,000 miles in a Ford Focus - The statistics
About 3½ years ago I bought a new GPS and nailed it into the Feekmobile to replace my old one. It has a trip counter thingie in it.
Today that counter reached the landmark distance of 100,000 miles. So, ever wondered how long it takes to drive that far, or what your average speed over that sort of distance would be? Wonder no more. I did what all good technologically minded people would do. I stopped the car when it showed that distance and took a photograph.

It's overclocked, remember
What actually happened was that a while ago when I left work the unit got a lock, and lost it again for about 30 seconds. As soon as it got the lock again for some reason it was confused and thought I'd gone from my previous location to my current one very quickly and the speed flashed up to 209. I decided not to reset that value in case any plod ever decided to be crafty and have a look at the unit to see my maximum speed. I'd like to see that be argued in court

What's the difference between average and driving average speed? Do you tell it when you're being towed or something?

Driving average is only when moving, overall average includes the time when stationary.

Good to see one with 100k on it but for me it has to pass 200k to be fully proven.
Over 40 mpg average is good though i'm happy with that. I like the Focus and remember how quick they were on release compared to there equivalents. Good drive an all, i like. |

Plenty of time for that to happen, I'm not changing it!

It does do over 50 to the gallon though, which is nice. Don't. Insult. Me.
