Default My new addiction...

I'm completely and totally addicted!

Classic radio comedies. I love them.

I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again, The Goons, I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, Hancocks Half Hour, Round the Horne, Beyond Our Ken, Dads Army, Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel, Hitchhikers Guide, Yes Minister, Men from the Ministry, The Navy Lark...

Add to that the newer comedies, It's Been A Bad Week, The 99p Challenge, The Now Show, Mitch Benns Crimes Against Music.....

However, the modern ones are nowhere near as good as ISIRTA or ISIHAC at it's peak. HOW THE HELL did the get away with some of their jokes, especially Humph with Samantha. He's a respected Jazz musician for gods sake!.

"She's looking forward to going out for an ice cream with her Italian gentleman friend. She says she's looking forward to licking the nuts off a large Neapolitan."

"In her spare time, Samantha likes nothing more than to peruse old record shops. She particularly enjoys a rewarding poke in the country section."

Just wanted to admit my current addiction, and would love for anyone to join me in this addiction. It's physically harmless. Mentally, who knows or cares.

I think I'm turning into a Radio 4 listener! HELP!!!

I agree with you, they are absolutely fantastic and I love listening to these shows and find them so close to the knuckle and hilarious that I often find myself in tears from laughing so much

However...

Nowt wrong with that laddy. I've been listening to Radio 4 since my early 20s.

I've been telling people for years about Wireless Four comedy, it's fantastic. So much good TV has come from there in the past as well.

Tha half past six Friday slot is comedy gold.

And BBC 7 is your friend for a lot of the old stuff.

The Now show is currently playing through my MP3 player. Been listening to ISIHAC at work, and have just downloaded a complete set of ISIRTA.

Radio 7 tend to edit older shows. Cutting out some of the less desirable jokes now. Still, all available on various FTP sites.

Can't believe that ISIHAC has been going for 49 series! Good old Humph.

I've been listening to it since I was about 7 It was always on in the background throughout the day while I was home educated so used to listen to everything from 9am to 8pm usually. Reckon it taught me a few things too.
These days I mainly listen to The Now Show, World At One and PM (I'm a news junkie )

Has that been tweaked to add the various BBC local stations yet?

My one at home hasn't. Could do with an auto-update thing really.
