Recommended product: Wynn's Radiator Stop Leak
My rad developed a bit of a hole the other week, probably not surprising since it's 50-something years old but I felt confident I could deal with it without a new radiator. I wire brushed the area and the pinhole turned into a bit of a major concern and I soldered it up as best I could. I couldn't plug it completely but managed to reduce it to a weep which lost about a litre in 50 miles, so enough to get me about and out of trouble but enough to have to deal with at some point.
I used this product, as recommended by my local spares shop: Wynn's Radiator Stop Leak It's just like any other bottle of rad sealer, you pour it straight into the water system and drive on as normal and with fingers crossed it will plug the leak. It has worked a treat and hasn't lost a drop since. It hasn't blocked anything up it shouldn't have and the heater is not affected at all. At £3.95 I consider it a bargain against the other treatments that were anything up to £12.

I'm not a fan of radweld, we used it as a temporary measure on our Jag and it killed the heater matrix.
