Loving these guys since I saw a couple of track on BBC6 Hub Sessions, have a look for yourself.
The singers voice is just made of Blues/ Rock, fantastic http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/events/hub/galleries/1225/ MB |

Love The Gossip. Beth is a really positive role model too.

Don't take this wrong but everytime i've heard her speak, she seems to me to be an annoying b*nt. I can see she's trying to be very positive etc... But she comes across to aggressive and really puts me off... I could imagine just arguing with her all the time
Standing in the way of control is a great song though |

I do like "Standing in the way of control" but Beth Ditto strikes me as really really annoying and I'm generally not the sort of person to find others irritating so she is something special albeit in entirely the wrong way for me to like.

can't stand them, music just grates on me. and "fat burd role model" really bothers me, she's overly unhealthy and in the last few years has made no effort to change her lifestyle.

they are an 'alright' band - their music is nothing special, and by no means any better than most of the drivel being spewed out by todays popular bands BUT with a hugely overweight singer she is not a positive role model - she is an example of someone who is using her weight to bring attention, regardless of it's implications to her health i no more agree with 'fat burd role models' than i do with wafer thin size 00 celebrities since when is obesity a reason for 'musical' fame? and she is the only reason the gossip got famous... |

I like the album
I just go for whatever sounds good to me, not really bothered about much else as we've all got such different tastes in these things.

but, they are only an average band - who are famous because of their porky lead i know people have wide and varying tastes in music (my favorite band are unsigned) but even if you read about the gossip in magazines, or in forums, it's always 'that group with the fat chick' not 'that group with a fantastic singer / drummer / guitarist' and music shouldn't be like that if you enjoy their music, fair enough |
