John is a student we've had working for us over the summer. He was with us on the helpdesk for a few months, and has been on our applications team since then. Lovely guy, quite smart, but sometimes just comes out with whatever he's thinking. This morning I received this email:

"To celebrate Jon's leaving the office on Friday… here are some classic phrases from him that we can repeat when we like, just to remember him by…."

- Is the letter A in lower case a different word to the letter A in upper case? Or would you not call it a word, but a symbol?

-Have you seen the clip of the cat that jumps up and grabs the fan? Ah... i dunno why i just thought of that... reminds you of Gareth eh? He doesn't train his staff.

-Sometimes, actually most of the time, it's really strange - people spell my name wrong.

-Hey! Were you here when they gave me a phone! It works and everything. Mine is very quiet though, is yours quiet?!

-Did you know its Cat-a-day today!! It's like Saturday, but about Cats!!

-It's quite a hot day, and we haven't got the fans on... how strange. We haven't had the fans on for a few days.

-Isn't it weird how much time we spend at work? It's most of our lives.

-Since I've worked here, I've never had to have so many windows open... my desktop is so cluttered!

-The ice cream in this country isn't real ice cream... isn't that strange.

-Hey Hugh, I bet you've got a big one? I bet you've at least got two screens, or like a monster PC.

-Can I get to Wales after work, and be back in time for the next day? And fish cakes... do they work in the toaster?

-Is that a new lock on that door? The bolt, its really shiny! Maybe someone polished it....

-Don't you find that people between the age of 25 to 45 all look the same? They could be any age!

-I wonder why we don't eat certain animals... like whales... or cows, no one has a pet cow do they?

-You know what, we need a statue or a piece of art around here... or maybe a cactus!

-Guess what? I overclocked my computer on the weekend. It's two processors faster now.

-I just boiled that kettle!! There was plenty for two. I've got Kenco today, anyone tried Kenco before?

-Does anyone want a permit holder? Maybe i should put it on the portal (student advertisement website)?

And my favourite which he said not ten minutes after I received the email:

-Sometimes I wake up and my alarm clock has so many buttons I think I'm in a space shuttle, then I think 'It's just a clock'.

We'll miss the little guy!

Why would anyone want to drive to Wales after a days work?
