Default Ford servicing

Gotta say I have always been impressed by my local Ford garage. Out of lazyness and for general ease I have always used them since getting my Focus. Also so they can look at fault codes as I do drive it like I stole it Now I am very happy, a full major service and brake fluid change for £160. That includes having an engine flush as well as other bits.

Our local Dovercourt were great for a few years and I got to know the staff quiet well and they were dead straight with me.

Gradually the staff changed and they were replaced by a bunch of muppet cowboys who after one service presented me with a list of things which "really urgently needed doing" to my car at a total cost of just under £2k.

I went to a different garage and showed them the list. They checked everything out which was listed and my total bill for the work that was actually needed was just a couple of hundred quid.

I went back and discussed it with the service manager who was quite rude.

I've not been back since.

Hopefully you won't suffer the same sort of thing with them but I'd never touch Dovercourt again.

Minnie had her first service yesterday (10,000 miles)

I took an hour and I waited, played with the MKII and the Clubman, got made a cup of tea and given biscuits, chated to the nice lady, turned my nose up at BMWs and then went to Homebase.

Grand total including spending at Homebase?

£10

Quite pleased with that

Yes this is Dovercourt off Waterhouse Lane. I think they know not to mess, although last time I got to drive the new ST when it was appearing in showrooms

Did you have a go in the turbo'd new mini MB? I was curious as to what they are like compared to the SC version. Surely you have had a few oil changes in 10k miles MB?
