Default Sir John Harvey Jones

Has snuffed it today

I remember him as being rather amusing on his Troubleshooter program but he was an increadbly successful businessman and chairman of ICI. Pots of money obviously, his page on Wiki describes him as "an enthusiastic cook and provisioner of picnics", I wonder how one cultivates a reputation as a "provisioner of picnics" I must make more of an effort.

Aw no way! Remember the documentary where he turned Morgan motor cars around. Legend. My next picnic will be in his honour.

I remember that same show, and the troubleshooter series too. Whether or not he was a successful provisioner of picnics he certainly knew his business stuff. RIP.

Actually, that would make a good day out for a meet....all we need is a big field, a big blanket and lots of food.

I remember his programmes but a bit young to remember the content. Sad loss, RIP.

That would be a good idea. A boat-drinks picnic dedicated to Sir John. Considering the amount of cooking threads we've had recently, everyone could bring one dish for public consumption.

I saw a couple of programmes with him in and thought he was bloody clever. He seemed to look at things very differently but when he explained things, it all seemed logical.

NOM!

I have a picnic blanket but I'm a bit of a can't cook, won't cook person, though I know I really should learn.
