Thumbs up "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street"

Yes, it's another Tim Burton/Johnny Depp/Helena Bonham Carter film, but it's a bit different this time.

It's a musical!

I was concerned by the thought of Johnny Depp singing but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Helena Bonham Carter had a great voice and acres of cleavage as well

I thought I'd struggle with two hours of musical but I enjoyed it and the time passed quickly. Occasionally it seemed like a Harry Potter film with Alan Rickman and Tim Spall playing parts in very similar styles to Snape and Wormtail. Spall looked just like he does as Wormtail and Helena looked just like Bellatrix! Spooky!

Sacha Baron Cohen is in it as well and was better than anything else I've seen him in.

A good film, almost Monty Pythonesque in a few parts

I saw this on Saturday with my friends and we all enjoyed it. I was really excited about seeing it but to be honest i liked it but i don't think it would be something i'd see again. I half expected Daniel Radcliff to saunter through a scene.

I am sure I posted in here - have I posted my comments randomly somewhere else?

In summary; really enjoyed, loved the costumes & sets, far more stylish/darker than your standard musical.

Saw this this afternoon.

Wow.. that was a lot darker and a lot bloodier than I anticipated. I can cope with violence and blood, but for some reason throats being cut I find challenging. That aside what a wonderful musical. Sterling performances all round, and wonderful sets and imagery. For some reason I really loved the intro visuals as well.

I did expect Sasha Baron Cohen to say "Yagshemash" or similar though. Yet again they had him playing a heavily accented role.

It is a really refreshing take on the concept of a musical, throw away any preconception of dancing set-pieces and the like with random strangers joining in the songs
