http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0093051/

The producer behind a whole series of absolutely dire game to film conversions. Utterly convinced of his own genius, rather than the truth.

I've never seen any of his movies (maybe a good thing judging from the comments I've read) but I believe in a person's right to self expression, regardless of the quality of their work.
As much as I dislike the work of the likes of Damien Hurst or Tracy Emin and their ilk, I still respect their right to produce "art" in whatever manner they choose - I just won't be going to any exhibitions of their work.

I won't sign the petition. I'm not a fan of censorship at the best of times and this petition smacks of "mob censorship", which, to me, is the movie industry equivalent of a lynch mob.

His movies may or may not be an affront to film making and the gaming fraternity but that is no reason to censor him - just don't watch the movies

I would agree Stan, if we weren't talking about the way Hollywood works. Every time he starts up another computer game related film project, he takes up the rights to it, or whatever its called, which means that no-one else can produce a film based on the game. For every film he makes under those circumstances that's one less opportunity for a good film to be made.

Hmm. You have a point there.
I wonder how many of the games he has bought the rights to would have been made into better films if he hadn't bought them?
If he is genuinely preventing good quality films from being made from these games then that is a nuisance. If that is the case, I'm surprised that the makers of the games allow him to purchase the rights to them - I'm sure if I had written a popular game, I wouldn't want it to be portrayed in a film produced by someone who is not highly thought of if there was a chance that a better film could possibly be made by someone else.
