Balls....
Bad things come in 3's? Well I'm done for a while then.
1) I have footprints in my bonnet - YAY! 2) They've started doing roadworks on my route to work - not a big problem? Wrong! As they've closed the entire road for 3 months I now have to add an hour @ 3mph to my trip to work - in a car that overheats since the footprints have appeared in the bonnet... 3) About an hour ago - playing Mario Kart on the Wii.... Room is nice and warm and I've got a nice cup of posh Assam and a cinnamon bun from Krispy Creme on the go. Then there's a pop and a hiss and the sound of dripping. The oil heater in the lounge has burst - sending hot, pressurised, oil vapour and droplets everywhere in the flat - and pissing it out over the floor. Kim's on the phone to the insurance people ast the moment - looks like we're going to need a new floor and probably replace all the soft furnishing in the lounge, bedroom and my playroom. Everything is covered in a film of oil - the floor is fun. Already fallen over once and smashed my head on the floor. Day off work for me tomorrow to clean this s**t up I think. Arse

It's managed to drop several litres of oil onto a wooden floor surprisingly quickly. It's buggered.
I really can't put another wooden floor down - I can barely kneel for long enough to do up a shoelace. Carpet it is then.

Surely you just have the insurance company pay someone else to put a wooden floor down for you.

I'd have thought that the insurance would cover the cost of doing any rebuilding work as well? It did when our kitchen got a bit flooded.

A bit flooded? Is that what you said to Mrs Feek on the phone?

Dunno - insurance people were apparently hopeless - Kim's going to try again tomorrow.
And here is the good reason why men should not be allowed in the kitchen. And why Huddy should not be allowed in the vicinity of a kitchen.

Cheeky buggers, it was due to a leaky pipe in the bathroom above!
