Who gots a new job? Jasper gots a new job!
I was going to post yesterday but I didn't want to jinx it!
Things have been going steadily down hill here since I got promoted. I didn't get a raise in line with the crazy amount of new responsibilities, I never get listened to, one of the developers under me never does anything I ask him to and makes me want to gouge my eyes out, deadlines get decided before functionality/development time frames are decided - so I had a quick look on the job boards and found an awesome looking startup just outside Portsmouth (Segensworth if you're interested). Got in there for an interview yesterday and they've just told me that I got the job! It's not a load of extra money, but the place seems so much better - I actually get hardware (dual screened brand new Mac Pro, if you're keeping score!), and proper flexi time. I also get to work on some really interesting-sounding projects that are all designed by people my age, so I can be proud of them and they really appeal to me. I think this place is going to be just what I need and, as you can probably tell, I'm really excited. So yeah, awesome news in time for the weekend and Charlotte's birthday on Monday!  It's all happened so fast, too.

Nice one. Tech startups definitely seem to be a good bet for a good stack of shiny new hardware and a decent working environment, but the obvious trade-off is the risk of it all going **** up in a hurry. Here's hoping yours is one of the successful ones.
