Forces Tell Government to **** Off.
Four forces have effectively told the Government that targets are a waste of time, alienate the public and leave little room for common sense resolutions, in effect going to the way things should be before the police force was wrecked by Labour.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7428895.stm I hope more follow suit. Targets ruin the job, bog officers down with repetative beurocracy and leave little to no scope for discression.

At least one of those aren't going to have a problem though - highest performing in the country apparently so a small drop in that won't do them any harm.
It's the underperformers that might have trouble getting away with that. |

I've only just been brainwashed into not using my own common sense, they can't expect me to switch it back on again, just like that!

It's about time targets took a back seat. It's ruining the police, NHS, teaching and probably pretty much any job. Monitoring, fine. Targets just bring out a negative effect IMO.
Anyone could do it where they work if given targets. I have easy jobs and hard jobs. Tell me to get 10 jobs out a day and I'll do the 10 easiest first whilst the hardest sit in an ever building pile.
