It is rather shocking that so many records have been left behind, you'd think there would be some sort of accepted procedure for the closure of a hospital and transfer of files - I'd have thought many would still be needed apart from anything else.

The building that Dukes Priory is in in Chelmsford used to be something for the health service. I used to do a bit of "urban exploration" in my younger days, and found a whole room of files when the place was empty.
It's not a new problem at all. |
