Default Special Dinner for 2 1/2

I got our anniversary on Saturday night and I said I was going to cook us a nice meal for Me, Sarah & Alexander before we go away to York on an overnighter. So I wanted to put together a dinner that was pretty healthy and made from scratch. Ok so the healthy bit might go by the wayside. I was thinking of something that I have cooked before thats tasty and on of a bit of American/South American theme.

So how does this fit together for a meal

Starter: Spicy Gazpacho Soup

Main: I got some Argentinian steak on order from the local butchers. I am doing this in a Chimmichurri Marinade. It's kind of a sweet/savoury marinade that is to die for. Served with Cheddar Mash

Pud: Home made Key Lime Pie or Cheescake. Not sure on this one yet. I have done Key Lime pie before and it's quite a light pud both in taste and texture.

Do you think this goes together or what would you substitue. Also looking for some good recommendations on Vino. I'll take some pics as I am going along

To go with the steak I recommend a good bottle of Malbec, since having a few bottles I can safely say it goes amazingly well with steak.

from my tastes I can say an argentinian malbec of 2005 are the best you'll find in a supermarket, I've had a couple of them and they're a lot fuller than the 2006 bottles I've had, and the 2007 bottles weren't as good either.

Man you should so make this for desert

Valrhona chocolate marquise, milk sorbet, macademia nut praline, chicory crème

However miss out the sorbet and if you cant make icecream(use camp) then get a coffee flavoured ice cream. The praline is easy and

However never tried making it myself, although I will as it is so much nicer than a mouse. But you do need to let the ice cream get very soft.
