Love that 1st shot, has the same feel to it as a shot I took way back when.

Note: the 70-200 @ 70mm pwns for the occasional portrait shot. The bokeh is just something to die for (nicer than the 50mm IMO)

EDIT: If you can, sharpen the eyes up and then the shot should really really "pop", IMO

Delete this post if you dont like me having a tinker, but here is my "interpretation" of my above post...

Tweaked the levels, added just a smidge of contrast to help things out a bit and then applied good old unsharp mask

Thanks Martin, I'm still getting used to post processing and I'm using GIMP as my copy of PShop seems to have rumbled me
