Love that 1st shot, has the same feel to it as a shot I took way back when.
Note: the 70-200 @ 70mm pwns for the occasional portrait shot. The bokeh is just something to die for (nicer than the 50mm IMO) EDIT: If you can, sharpen the eyes up and then the shot should really really "pop", IMO |

Delete this post if you dont like me having a tinker, but here is my "interpretation" of my above post...
Tweaked the levels, added just a smidge of contrast to help things out a bit and then applied good old unsharp mask |
