Default Canon EOS 50D !

Hi, has anyone know what the expected price of the new EOS 50D is going to be in the UK. As the USA are selling it for apx $1300 ! ?

I have read a few reviews, seems to be a good buy !

There aren't going to be any real reviews of it yet as its not out. It was just announced last week and theres only really 1 real preview on DPReview. I hear it'll be around £1199. The real issue is going to be the noise level with the 15mp image. No-ones properly commented on that yet.

I did read a review about noise on the 50D and it mentioned that ISO will go beyond 3200 and the DIGI IV will keep the noise very low.
If the reviews are good in the near future on this 50D I think I will get it and sell my 400D

Got a link? From what I've seen its just speculation at the moment. I haven't seen any images being released showing the low noise at iso12800.

ISO 12800, wow. Wouldn't that like practically be able to see in the dark?

The Nikon D700 + D3 has 25,600. If you add a 50mm f/1.2 lens that would really be something.

I think the EOS 50D has still fallen short of the Nikon D300. As a friend has that DSLR and it is one piece of amazing kit !

Erm? How? It beats the D300 in a lot of ways.

Such as?

A quick flick through the specs side by side on DP Review suggest only a couple of advantages at most but I don't know enough about the 50D to know if there's other stuff not mentioned on those spec lists.

Better ISO is the main killer. 15mp too. But now I look at it the D300 is actually pretty damn impressive. Damn. When did Nikon become the better camera company?
