Default LEDs

My house seems to be getting a little like the Blackpool illuminations. I'm sure it can be seen 'glowing' from down the road at night. :/

Does anyone have any suggestions for any techniques I can use to tone down things a little without opening up boxes and snipping out the LEDs?

Add a resistor to the circuit... other than that get a lower powered LED. Or get a black marker and mark up the LED it should dim it quite nicely.

Black marker sounds reasonable. I don't want to obliterate the LEDs completely, and in several cases I don't have the option to open the box to cut/modify/replace the LEDs. I also don't want to leave a mess.

Black marker works awesome and doesn't look nasty in the day, for more coverage tip ex is great too but obviously is more visible in the day... I don't know why manufactures feel the need to use HUGE ass blue LED's in everything these days... At least have some dimming function or something...?

Any particular type of marker I should be looking for? I know nothing.

It's not just the blue ones either. To help control stuff that makes me sneeze I have several ionisers, and they all project a green glow. Fine, until you want to go to sleep. :/

I just use a CD writing pen tbh
the nib is small enough to just paint onto the LED face
