Ive just had my first tooth out at 36, christ, look after your teeth children, its not something i want to go through again.

Ive had a sensitive tooth for a while now, but there was nothing the dentist could do with it, he took x-rays today and said either a root canal that probably wont work, or an extraction, i opted for the latter expecting to be told to come back in a few days, only to see him produce a monkey wrench and a smile that told me he was well up for it.

I had to get 4 injections due to the location of the tooth (in front of wisdom tooth), never having had a tooth out before, i assumed they had some sort of machine that would just pop them out, but he informed me that brute strength was the way to go.

After about half an hour of pulling and pushing, the tooth finally came out, or so I thought, it was only the crown and the job was half finished, another half an hour of drilling and pulling saw the rest of the tooth come away, with the dentist telling me it was one of the hardest extractions he had ever had due to my teeth being extremely strong.

Anyway, an hour on and im at home with a sore jaw, blood still pouring out my mouth since he caught me all over my jaw and mouth with his monkey wrench and a feeling of being abused somewhat, im feeling dead sorry for myself, i had gone to tesco before and bought an individual sushi for one to eat for my lunch and i cant eat anything till the blood stops. The anasthetic is wearing off now, and i feel like ive gone 3 rounds with ricky hatton, it should help the weight loss i suppose.

I had 2 wisdom teeth removed the other week, but I got ot ave a general anasthetic because they werent actually through.
I've still got to have the other two taken out

Having known several dentist on a first name basis, I can honestly tell you that next time find a different one. That butcher had no idea what he was doing. If your teeth were so strong, how come he ****ed up bad enough to break one of them?

The guy's a putz. Hope he's not a relation or good friend...

Dont get cocky with the eating thing in a day or two. There is nothing like the pain of something crunchy hitting that spot just when you think it's safe to start eating normally!!

Aye. Stick to creamy mouthfuls for the time being, and then move onto getting something hard inside you, would be my advice.

Ive had a rib removed for just that very purpose, i knew it would come in handy one day.

Mark, I've had a few bad experiences with them. Mostly in the military. I joined the navy and had only ever had one cavity. 3 months prior to joining my family dentist did a checkup and said all was good.

6 months after going to bootcamp I had to take a mandatory military dental exam. I couldn't go to a civilian of my choice, I couldn't even pick the military dentist to go to. I got stuck with someone that makes your experience sound like heaven. All of a sudden I had two teeth that needed extraction and 12 cavities that needed work. Yeah, I was a guinea pig for this tool. And when he's all done, he's left me with TEMPORARY fillings. So by the time I get back from the Gulf, all the holes he drilled and left unprotected had turned in to comlete and utter rot.

Now I'm left with over $6,500 worth of dental work to get dentures, two root canals, two crowns, and a bridge. All coming out of my pocket. When if he'd left my damned teeth alone I would still have all of my originals instead of only having 12 teeth in my upper jaw (all of them broken off) and 9 of my lower remaining (two of them being the ones needing the root canals and two needing the crowns).

Me bitter? Nah!!
