I want a new pet. Snake?
been looking at getting a snake/snakes for YEARS.
mum always said when i was younger if i wanted she'd get me garter snakes, never sure why i didn't at the time. now im old and sensible and have money to burn i think i'd like to get one all of my own. looking at things, i'd like a milk snake. they don't seem rediculously uncommon or any more difficult than any of the others to look after, am i off the mark here? any suggestions on where to get one? anything i should look for or avoid? any items that would make my snake life much easier and funner? (i'm positing this in the presumtion that there is anyone here who has or has in the past kept snakes, there seems to be one of everyone else here)

I know where to get one and get all the advice you'd want but it's in Edinburgh.

I used to keep corn snakes.
Very easy to look after and can be great pets if you spend the time handling them. I got a cat whilst I had the snakes, I gave the snakes away because I wasn't giving them the attention they deserved but they were good pets DO NOT get a fish tank, make sure you get a wooden vivarium. |

I know someone who had a big one, can't remember what type now.
Anyway, the plus was that he was in shared accommodation and didn't have a lock on his door and never had his stuff nicked because everyone was too scared to go in there. The downside was he says it was the most boring pet he has ever owned as it only came out once a month to eat something, do a big poo and then hid again. I love snakes. |

i don't really like cats and dogs that need constant attention and looking after. it has been said in the past that the perfect pet for me, something which i could love as much as it loved me, would be a Brick.

I do love snakes. I like furry critters that interact with me more though. |
