New Met Chief.
Link.
It has been ruled out that a foreign candidate will take over as the Commissioner for the Metropolitan Police. Why not make a gutsy decision and let someone like Bill Bratton take over ? His red tape free policies put more cops on the streets in New York and slashed crime, he also did the same in Los Angeles and I think he should get a chance in the UK. Thoughts ?

Whoever it is is going to end up being a political punchbag for a while - at least until the next General Election. The new rules that govern the Met oversight have seen to that. That fact alone has already lead at least one contender to pull the plug.
In short, I suspect the next Met commissioner will either be the current temporary leader, or a lame duck. |

Agree with Mark there, the new Met chief really will just be a puppet on a string and will take a strong person to try and work around that.
