I can't how anyone can sell an almost new laptop, and not exactly an ancient one at that, for £20 and make a profit.

I've started nearly every auction I've made for 99p, and they've still managed to sell well. That includes phones worth £250+ etc.
Only one auction did something ever go for anywhere near the starting bid and that was a network card I was selling for Daz. Otherwise starting for 99p always works well for me.
