Default Close call...

Why is it that every mother****ing **** arsed **** ****er bastard ****er is out to get me? First it was my bike, now it's the car - no no don't worry, no impact, but how I missed the **** I really do not know - but I'm now sure there is a God.

So I'm coming round this corner not particularly quickly, but there was a huge line of on coming traffic, and a junction right on the apex of the corner with a yellow box on the junction. It's a bit of a blind corner with all the cars coming round - just as I get to the junction, to my left a car is waiting to pull out, to my right along the line of the traffic a car pulls out RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!!! The middle of this blue corsa is right in front of me - i.e. he was well and truly in front of me. :/

I somehow manage to swerve to the left, and then back to the right around the front of the car, avoiding the other car on the left at the junction, squeezing in between them. And coming to stop, safely without skidding. If I had been in a car any less nimble I'd have gone into either the ****, or the poor waiting car.

I was livid. Absolutely and completely outside of my body with rage as well as (and I don't mind admitting it) fear - or at least adrenaline pumped. People around me were asking if I was ok (I was topless ), but I hadn't heard a word, I was already out of my car and up to the **** asking him what the **** is he doing? He looked incredulous - he had done nothing wrong. Fortunately he had stalled otherwise he'd have scampered. I leant in grabbed his keys and chucked them as hard as I could whilst hurling abuse at him. Everybody around me clapped and cheered, he started getting all shirty, but amazingly despite his big words stayed in the car... I drove off, and saw him running out of his car looking for his keys - I felt great.

Yes I know it's a pathetic not very mature thing to do, and now I've calmed down I feel somewhat guilty about it - but then I just have to think about it and the vein in my head starts throbbing and I remember that that cock nearly helped write off my car - and effectively ruin my bank holiday plans. Maybe I do have a bit of a temper, maybe I don't, I blame my greek blood - either way, that was not the start of the day I needed, though I do love the buzz of the adrenaline. However I don't wish to experience it that way thank you very much.

anyway, I've just had a cup of tea and so feel better. Why is it that every **** on the road doesn't see me? I'm starting to take it personally now!!

Who said that?!

Wish I'd been there to see the rampage. And the key searching! At least you're OK, which is the main thing. Sounds like a real close one though.

What are you feeling guilty about? Lobbing his keys? If it were me I'd have been tempted to take his head clean off. I'm generally a very calm person but I have such a temper at times that very few people have actually seen it. If I'd been in the same position, I'd no doubt be as pissed off as you were, and I honestly think if he'd started talking back to me and getting in my face, I'd have punched him, very very hard. You did well not to do that yourself

Good driving by the way, you did well not to hit either car. Through a mis-judgment of my own I almost hit two cars on a dual-carriageway on the weekend of Dee's birthday. A car in front was slowing down to stop, so I pulled out to avoid him, not realising the car next to me was slowing down to turn right at a junction. I swerved inbetween the two of them, missing both by less than a foot on either side. It certainly got my adrenaline going for a while

Sounds an understandable reaction, you didn't even touch the bloke, but I bet he was scared! Rightly so, hopefully he'll think next time.

Glad you're ok.

Exactly. you didn't hit him (well done, especially if you were really that angry) and so he might think twice as the next person he does it to could have less self control. Nothing to feel guilty about on your part though imo.

Glad you're ok and that it wasn't worse! *hugs*

Some old codger nearly got my rusty iron bumper shoved up his ass the morning.

I have a great idea, why not pull out right in front of the car that is least likely to be able to stop. Like I said, stupid old codger.

I mean what is it with people? Do they literally have no capacity to think at all? Since when you do pull out of a junction that you can't see is clear?! To be honest I was so livid I didn't even think about hurting him I couldn't see him I was almost blind with rage... actually I sound like a monster, I wasn't that bad. I'd have loved to have had the time to laugh at the key throwing incident... I don't know how I manage to swerve around them.. well him basically it's a tribute to the ability of my car not really my driving skill - I have got good reactions and don't panic under pressure, but the car responded to my inputs perfectly.

Thanks for the confidence guys - don't know how I kept my cool, I musn't be as aggressive as I thought I was...

Well done for not lamping him. I feel the same way a lot of the time, every time i go out in the car there is some idiot waiting to try to kill me or force me off the road. Pulling out in front of me, nearly running into the side of me on roundabouts and recently small children running out onto the road after balls. Grr.

I understand the anger
Yesterday I came out to my car to find some **** had knocked the wing mirror off (When I was parked half off the road and on a wide part of the road), second time it's happened, plus had someone drive into the side of my car when trying to park and then drove off.
The pleasures of living down the road from a college, 17 year olds in Mum's car and can't really drive yet.
Unfortunately for me I think I'm all talk, if I had an accident caused by someone else I'd probably be too freaked out to get angry, then shortly afterwards wish I had a go at them. Also the size of me doesn't really help

Just sucks when people are so inconsiderate about your property

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!

Not that I'm calling you a dog though... erm... you know what I mean right?!
