Default Elise is up for sale

Put an advert up on SELOC tonight and will be doing Pistonheads on Friday. Had to drink half a bottle of wine before I could click the submit button as I am gutted to be selling but the cost vs enjoyment no longer makes sense as all I seem to do is drive it from Cambridge to Heathrow airport.

I will be back but for the moment I am totally I have no idea how I'll feel when I see her being driven away but I suspect I will end up running down the road after her before collapsing in a heap in the middle of the road crying like a baby

Shame.

Still, get an Exige/340R next time.

I feel VERY dirty for saying this but if you fancy trying an Elise type car give the COUGH VX220 COUGH a go. My mate who is 6'6" and couldn't drive an Elise gets on fine with the VX.

Would love an S2 Exige though realistically with be another S1 Elise though this time I won't waste my money on a low mileage perfect example but rather a high mileage well modded and cared for example.

VERY dirty?

Positively ****ing filthy I should hope!

Had the 'pleasure' of a VX Turbo for a week when they were new. Took it out to a track and thrashed it, it wasn't a patch on the Elise/Exige/340R in funness. They even made it ugly....

And it's got a Vauxhell badge on the front. *unless you get the much more desirable imho Opel badge*

I had to say something positive about it. I liked the colour.

It may be based on a superb car... but it's nowhere near as good.

Anyway... *plants subliminal messages*

S1 Elise with a Supercharged Alfa 3l V6 in the back? Only around 350bhp iirc.

If i didn't consider you a friend i would fall right out with you about now. Fancy owning an Elise an recommending a kin Vauxhall, if i can't fit in a Lotus i don't want nothing else
My love affair with Lotus goes well back & i even got myself run over once whilst daydreaming outside a Lotus garage
How much i love & want one cannot be described, it is one of the very few cars out there i am in Love with.

Lotus Cortina or Carlton?

I'd desperately love a Mk1 Lotus Cortina, but they're stupidly expensive now.

Same goes with the Lotus Europa in Team Gold Leaf of JPS colours. Prices are rocketing.

Nobbers are now finally realising that Lotii are classic cars. They left us alone for years... now they're buying them as investments.

So sad.

Ah but the classic car boom in the 80's/90's fell flat on its face didn't it? Everyone buying cars as investments lost loadsa dollar. It'll happen again, especially if people start getting nervous about their houses.
