HL2: ep 2
Maybe I have been out of the loop, but ep 2 seems to be coming out on the 10th. Now you seem to have to buy the orange box which includes HL 2, ep1, tf2, portal which works out at £25 ish.
I can't seem to see a version where you just buy ep2, portal, tf2. I already have the other games so I can't see why I should buy them again. Really looking forward to this one, simply because its a FPS with a story! That and my machine still eats the source engine alive. |

I haven't read this month PC Gamer but isn't the orange box for Retail?? Surely Steam would see that you have HL2 and Episode 1???

Valve say that you're only actually paying for EP II, Portal and TF 2 and that the other stuff is an added free bonus but that sounds like BS to me. Apparently you will be able to buy EP II seperately but it'll only be available after the release date, ie, no pre-load.
http://www.steampowered.com/v/index....erm=orange+box shows a price of $29.95. |

Episode 2 looks to be available on its own (oddly for the same price as the orange box). It doesn't say specifically but I'm pretty sure it comes with Portal and TF2.

What's the difference between HL2 and HL2 Ep1?
This is one of the few games I actually loved (HL) so I will be getting this - though I need a new gfx card

Ep1 is the next step on from HL2. It's the same game engine and what not but the story has moved on - it starts where HL2 finished.
It's good, quite short though. A bit too short for my liking. |

Ep1 is an add-on for HL2
EDIT: Dang it, not fast enough

Is that "Lost coast"? Or is it something completely different altogether?

Will, HL2 is a damn good game, its looking a tad dated now. Its carrying on the story of HL now that Gordon Freeman accepted the offer from the G-man. Suddenly you start in city 17 (George Orwell 1984 style) and it all kicks off from there.
Hl -> Hl2 -> hl2 ep 1 -> hl2 ep 2. What gfx card have you got Will, you could be surprised as it has very low requirements |
