Today I decided to make Welshcakes
Ingredients: 225g Self raising flour 110g salted butter 85g caster sugar 1 egg A handful of sultanas Milk if needed ![]() Sieve the flour into a bowl, rub in the butter to make a breadcrumb mixture. ![]() Add the caster sugar & sultanas and mix. ![]() Add the egg ![]() And mix to make dough. Add some milk if required (I added a splash as my egg was quite small). ![]() Taste mixture! ![]() Roll out to 1/2 cm thickness (dust board & rolling pin with flour to stop sticking) ![]() Cut out Welshcakes with a cookie cutter. Heat heavy bottomed frying pan (or flat griddle) to medium. ![]() Cook for 2-3 mins a side, until browned. ![]() Leave to cool on rack ![]() MB takes macro shot! ![]() Nom!
