Unhappy Order forms! Heeeelp!

Hello People!

Most of today I have been in a kerfuffle.

As you know, a few companies are looking interested in my cards and it occurred to me this morning... if they do 100% want my stuff... they'll need an order form.... and I don't have one as such...

*eak*

Sooo... I thought "Bah, this isn't scary, it's simple! All order forms are simple! I'll just go do one now! It'll take minutes!"... but I think I've thought about it too much and am now worried and need clarification/ideas from choo lot!

All of my cards are categorised and then appropriately named, ie:

Seasonal - Christmas - Angel
General - Congrats - Bottoms Up

Sooo... I figured open a word doc, list them, put prices next to them and then quantity, totals at the bottom, terms and conditions etc and bobs your uncle (aww that was a wedding tv show thing wasn't it!?! It was really funny! I'm gonna have to youtube it now!) I digress! Thing is, when doing the word doc, I realised some of them sounded pretty similar... and then wondered how they would know which design they wanted... and then I became uber confused.

Do I need to show all of my designs in thumbnails on the order form? Or can I send them an order form like above with a CD and all of the designs on it for them to see? Or do I set up a webby and clicky bits on it? Or do I scrap that idea for an order form and do it differently?!!

*confused confused*

Hoping you can help peoples! I think the CD is the best plan but yeh... I'm boggled now!

*wubs*

I would have a blank order form with the usual boxes for size, quantity etc with a separate sheet showing examples of the cards with colour pics and description under for ordering with maybe even a reference number for the card.

That's a good plan but... there are an *awful* lot of cards...

:/

I guess... I will just have to draw the line somewhere...

Ideally I kinda wanted them to have the pick of whatever they fancied!

BoOOOoOO!

One advantage of the separate cards sheet is they can always keep that handy, with spare order forms and order more later if they decide they want to place other orders. Gives them something to refer to at any time after the first order.

Okie...

Was basically what Desmo said to me this morning and I yabbered on about this other way and then got in a pickle (sowwy Desmo, will promise to listen in the foochure!)

Right then...

I am going to have to create a rather huge document with mini piccies of my card designs on...

*sigh*

*scraps what she's done today*

Think happy thoughts though as once it is done the first time you only need to update with new designs later on

I am the same when i do photo shoots i never want to process all the stuff from the day and hate doing it even though i know the end results at times will be worth it.

The order form is as useful as a chocolate firegaurd Pheebs.. Get yourself a good solictor to draft up some terms and conditions.

You can see mine on my Admiral Computers website which is quite air tight.

Downloadable pdf..

It's a totlally different business scenario but you have to think about order where no money is taken up front or you could get caught with your knickers down.. We wouldn't want that would we.. #ponders#

Maybe instead of incorporating the pictures into the form you could have a small leaflet with quarter sized images, big enough to see but not huge. With a code under them which could then be filled into a separate form. With the format

Code | Quantity | Size etc

Would probably make things more concise.
