Recommendations for a 5.1 set up ????
Can anyone recommend a half decent 5.1 set up with DVD (Upscale), USB and HDMI. I recently got a new 32" HD TV so I want a half decent DVD System to go with it. Also be ideal if it had optical in as I am considering a PS3 in a few months also. I'm not that fussed about it offering absolutley crystal clear super duper audio. As such I don't wan't to spend over £250.00 if I can help it.

them samsung kits are sweet. a mate of mine got one to match his TV and its really nice
 (although he has the one with the tall speakers) |

Personally I'd go for separates so you can upgrade if you wish to in the future

Fourthed. I started off with an all in one and have now gone down the separates route, sounds amazing now. Although, if you only want the all in one then that samsung is a good bet.

Hmm you got me thinking now. It might be better to spend the money on a half decent seperates system and then plug the PS3 in via Optical and have that as the media centre

If you're definitely getting a PS3 then you don't need to buy a DVD player as it will do that.
Unless you are very limited on your budget I would suggest you splash out a bit and go for AMP - £229 http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...=YAMA-DSPAX761 Speakers - £199 http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...id=KEF-KHT1005 The AMP does HDMI audio so you would have the HDMI connection going in and the video passed through to the TV. You also have a free HDMI port should you for example get Freesat HD in the future. As the switching is done by the amp you would only need to change the input on the Amp to change the audio and video source. Sounds like a minor thing but is bloody useful. |

Separates are the way to go matey. Your best getting a decent amp and some good speakers which you can chop and change as the need arises.
We'll be in a similar situation to you soon but I actually already have a pair of floorstanders so will just need to buy an amp, centre, usb and a pair of rears.

Does PS3 upscale DVD's ?? Not a big issue if it doesn't but would be a nice to have.
